"Repairing
Photodamage"
Anti-Aging Medical News
Prematurely
aging skin is a significant concern for many patients and deserves
the attention of the anti-aging practitioner. Despite popularly-held
ideas, the majority of the observable changes in aging skin are
driven not by advancing time (intrinsic aging), but by photoaging;
that is, the damaging effects of ultraviolet radiation (UVR).
Although many of its effects are cosmetic in nature, it is crucial
to understand that photoaging is a pathological process...

"Trienelle
Takes on Skin Cancer and Aging"
Health Sciences Institute Newsletter
Half
of all new cancers are skin cancers. In fact, they're more common
than cancers of any other organ. Over 1.3 million cases of basal
cell and squamous cell skin cancer are expected to be diagnosed
this year. Sobering isn't it? But now a powerful form of an old
standby offers new hope...

"The
Role of UV Radiation in Premature Skin Aging
and a Review of Effective Defense Strategies"
Research By Randall M Wilkinson, MD
If
any doubt exists as to the primary role played by UV radiation
in skin aging, one need only consider the radical difference in
appearance of the skin of the face and hands and the skin of typically
unexposed areas such as the buttocks. Despite popularly-held ideas,
the majority of the observable changes in aging skin are driven
not by advancing time (intrinsic aging), but by photoaging
that is, the damaging effects of ultraviolet radiation (UVR)...

Tocotrienols
and the Modification
of Coronary Heart Disease Risk Factors
Research
By Randall M Wilkinson, MD
A
unique feature of multiple different Trienelle products is
their inclusion of tocotrienols in the formulation. This monograph
was written by Dr. Wilkinson regarding other important features
of tocotrienol function - beyond the great things they do
for the skin.
Tocotrienols
are a form of vitamin E with characteristics which differ from
the tocopherol form. These characteristics include activity which
positively affect defined factors of risk for coronary heart disease
(CHD). This paper reviews those CHD risks, known results from
modification of those risk factors and the biologic activity of
the tocotrienols.

Boosting
the Skin's Immune Function
The
skin is the biggest and most important organ of the immune system.
The skin forms a protective barrier, shielding us against toxins,
bacteria and other germs, and environmental assaults from the sun.
Radiation from the sun can seriously interfere with this protective
function of the skin, leaving you vulnerable.
In addition to sunscreen agents that protect from damaging UVA and
UVB radiation, Trienelle includes natural colostrum from New Zealand
and extracts of reishi and other valuable Japanese mushrooms.
These extracts help to support the skin’s immune response. Supporting
the immune system from another angle, an extract of green apples helps
to calm allergic and inflammatory reactions in the skin. With daily
use, these beneficial extracts provide targeted support for vital,
vibrant, healthy looking skin.
The
Secret of Tocotrienols
Antioxidant
nutrients such as vitamin E have become popular skin care ingredients
because they can protect against and repair existing free radical
damage in the skin cells. But not all vitamin E is created equal.
The tocotrienol form of vitamin E has been shown to be up to 60 times
more powerful in fighting the cellular damage caused by free radicals
than the more common form of alpha-tocopherol used in cosmetics.
When applied to the skin’s surface, they are pulled deep into
the tissue and absorbed directly into the cells, where they help protect
against the changes that lead to skin cancer, wrinkles, age spots,
and other factors that make your skin appear older than it is.
Antioxidants work even more powerfully when used in combination with
other complimentary nutrients. In the Trienelle formulas, tocotrienols
have been blended with other nutrients into a unique multi-antioxidant
liposome called Tocolur Skin Nutrition Complex™.
The Tocolur liposome combines tocotrienols with melatonin, fennel
extract, carotenoids, phytosterols, squalene, and natural enymes that
further enhance the antioxidant action of the mix. The liposome delivers
these nutrients into the deep layers of the skin where they are slowly
released, ensuring a steady level of coverage.
Studies have shown that a liposomal delivery system like the Tocolur
Skin Nutrition Complex can render the active ingredients up to ten
times more powerful than in normal lotions and creams.
Skin Exfoliation and Renewal
Alpha
hydroxy acids, or AHAs, are nature’s own cosmeticians... safely
and reliably smoothing the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the
skin. AHAs help to dissolve and remove the layer of dry, lifeless
skin cells that can dull the appearance of your complexion and make
fine lines and wrinkles look deeper.
There are dozens, if not hundreds, of products on the market that
use AHAs. But the buyer must beware. Too high a concentration can
cause redness, stinging, and irritation. Too low a concentration and
you don’t get good results.
And recent studies reviewed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration
reveal that AHAs used without appropriate sun protection can increase
the skin’s sensitivity to UV rays and sunburn.
Unlike most of the AHA products on the market, which leave the skin
completely unprotected from radiation, Trienelle Daily Renewal Creme
protects your skin from both UVA and UVB rays with a dermatologist-recommended
SPF of 15, while at the same time giving you the skin-smoothing benefits
of AHAs.
Use it with confidence: Trienelle meets or exceeds all of the recently
released FDA guidelines for AHA-containing products.
European Discovery that Rebuilds Aging Skin
The
most obvious change in the skin as we age is the loss of that unmistakable
firmness and elasticity of young skin.
The changes we observe on the surface reflect what is happening underneath
the skin to
something called the collagen matrix.
The collagen matrix is like a flexible skeleton—picture a loofah
sponge—that holds moisture and gives the skin its shape and
plumpness. Over time, the collagen matrix begins to deteriorate.
As the collagen matrix collapses, the surface of the skin begins to
look less taut and takes on a looser, crépe-like appearance.
As the skin becomes more slack, it begins to fold in on itself, creating
lines and wrinkles.
Although the collagen matrix will break down slightly with age, its
demise is greatly accelerated by the sun and its damaging radiation.
Some researchers even have suggested that if human skin were never
exposed to the sun, 80 year olds would have virtually the same firm,
beautiful skin that they had in their 20's.
Studies show that UV exposure actually increases the skin’s
production of an enzyme called collagenase. This enzyme literally
eats up the collagen matrix, greatly speeding its collapse and accelerating
the skin aging process. To make matters worse, UV exposure also slows
down the skin’s production of new collagen.
French researchers have recently discovered a special molecule—a
pentapeptide composed of the amino acids Lysine, Threonine, and Serine.
This particular molecule is a microfragment of natural collagen that
has been shown to help replenish the collagen matrix, dramatically
improving skin tautness and elasticity.
This extraordinary new discovery gives Trienelle products a marked
advantage over previous "age defying" products… giving
you firmer, younger looking skin. |
